Almonds
Almonds are classified as Prunus dulcis
syns. P. amygdalus, Amygdalus communis.
Almonds are cholesterol free,
low in saturated fat, low in carbohydrates, high in dietary
fiber, high in antioxidant vitamin E, high in calcium, riboflavin,
copper, zinc, phosphorus, folic acid and magnesium. Most of
the fat in almonds is monounsaturated, also known as the "good"
fat.
